We designed a label for one of the Adega Arruda wines. In this project we have repackaged the entire line of wines from this company, but we would like to talk about this wine separately. The name comes from a true story. When the famous military ecclesiastical order Ordem de Santiago set out on the Crusades, the wives of the crusaders, in anticipation of their husbands, chose this region as the most suitable for wine production. With the blessing of the order and the church and with the help of the monks of the order, they began to cultivate the first grapes and make the first wine.
To make this label, we found all the printed and illustrated paper monuments of the order that have survived to this day. We used in the label the main symbols and elements that the order used and stylized the label according to the order of the order. We drew all the labels by hand to preserve the medieval style and then transferred them to digital media. We wanted to convey the spirit of that time and focus on elements important for that era.
